Abstract
This study aims to examine the role of the musyarakah contract in supporting the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and in strengthening the intermediation function of Islamic banking through partnership-based financing. The research employs a literature review approach by analyzing academic journals, books, and official documents related to the implementation of musyarakah in Islamic economic practices. The findings indicate that musyarakah provides a more equitable financing alternative for MSME actors because it emphasizes cooperation, transparency, and proportional risk-sharing. For Islamic financial institutions, musyarakah serves as a strategic instrument for channeling productive financing while enhancing the bank’s role as a business partner to its customers. Overall, this contract contributes to expanding access to capital and promoting sustainable community economic growth in accordance with Sharia principles.
