Efektivitas Perlindungan Hak Cipta Lagu terhadap Kasus Pembajakan Musik di Indonesia

Abstrak

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of legal protection of song copyright amid rampant music piracy in Indonesia. Music piracy is a serious problem for songwriters and the music industry, as it causes economic losses and hinders creativity. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, through analysis of various laws and regulations, court decisions, and relevant literature. Based onthe results of the study, it is known that although provisions regarding copyright are clearly regulated in law,their implementation still faces various obstacles, such as low public awareness and weak law enforcement. Therefore, more systematic and coordinated efforts are needed from the government, law enforcement agencies, and music industry players to strengthen copyright protection. This step is important to create a safe and sustainable environment for songwriters and support the growth of the national music industry.
